About me
I am a software engineer based in Japan. I studied business and commerce at Keio University. I began my career at a systems integrator, then joined the in-house digital transformation team at an HR services company before going independent. Today I work as a freelance engineer, leading web application development projects.
Teaching is the other thread that runs through my work: I have designed training programs for new engineers, written the course materials, and taught the courses myself. My interest in how people learn computing also drives my personal projects.

Hiyoko Playground
hiyoko-lang.derarion.devHiyoko is a first programming language for complete beginners. It keeps only the syntax that mainstream languages share and exposes a minimal set of concepts. See GitHub for the design and implementation.
This was my first language implementation, written to learn how interpreters work. I designed the language, wrote the interpreter in Rust, and compiled it to WebAssembly so that beginners can start coding in the playground right in the browser, with no setup.
